There is nothing quite so basic to your biological circadian rhythms as your sleep-wake cycle. And yes, the idea of genetically based or influenced “chronotypes” has been popular over the past few years, with the idea that some of us are just naturally early risers and some folks are night owls and others are in between. The idea is that as long as you are getting adequate sleep, that it doesn’t really matter if you routinely go to bed at 1 am and get up at 9 or 10 am the next day.
