Today, we want to share one of our client's stories and her experience with intermittent fasting. There's not much we can say that's more profound than Connie Ragen Green's IF journey.
We're sharing her words with permission and we believe you'll be inspired... this past May, Connie sent this out in an email to her audience...
"This entire week I'm been thinking of another quote, this one from Martin Rutte...
"You've got to do it by yourself and you can't do it alone."
I could be talking about entrepreneurship here, or authorship, or any of a number of things. But, instead, I'm talking about losing a significant amount of weight, and keeping it off for fifteen months, so far.
In December of 2019, I set a goal to drop one hundred pounds by the end of 2020. I had good intentions, but no plan. January came and went. I review my goals weekly and monthly and while my thoughts and intention remained, a plan for how to accomplish my goal continued to elude me. Then February arrived and it wasn't until near the end of that month that I decided to join a 10-Day Challenge by someone I know and respect, Denise Wakeman.
It was a Challenge around "intermittent fasting" and I signed up. Denise was a speaker at my marketing event in Los Angeles the first week of March. The Challenge was to begin the day after my event ended, so I felt good about it. I still didn't feel like I had a plan, but I decided not to discuss my doubts with Denise the week we were together.
I didn't lose any weight until the very end of the Challenge. During the following two weeks, I dropped about 6 pounds and I was encouraged. After learning just a little bit about this way of eating and connecting with Denise, Dr. Ellen Britt, and the people who were a part of this group, I exhaled. I now had a plan.
To date, I've dropped 105* pounds, which is about 47 kilos. If you saw my photos from the past several years, you know I look like a different person. But that's just part of the story...
I'm no longer pre-diabetic. I can wear regular shoes and actually have ankles once again. 95% of the clothes in my closets fit me. My skin tags are gone. My dental health has improved. And I'm proud of myself!
